World-renowned Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed the extent of his global influence, citing his ability to directly contact 14 presidents.
The Afrobeats star made this revelation during his speech at the ‘Elevate Africa’ programme.
According to the music icon, his career has significantly expanded opportunities for his family, beyond the substantial wealth and business empire of his father, Adedeji Adeleke.
“Music has opened so many doors for my family,” Davido said. “Yes o, forget the money. I have 14 presidents’ phone numbers. I can call them directly.”
Davido further noted that his international acclaim has fostered cultural promotion and strengthened his ties with global leaders.
“In every country we go to, the president wants to meet us. That’s also promoting our culture. It’s an amazing feeling,” he added.
The singer’s remarks underscore his position as one of Nigeria’s foremost cultural ambassadors, using his platform to bridge connections across borders while spotlighting the power of African music on the world stage.
Davido, whose career spans over a decade, has consistently pushed boundaries in the global music industry, cementing his place as a household name.
With collaborations featuring top international artists and a track record of sold-out shows worldwide, his influence remains a testament to the growing dominance of Afrobeat music.
