The Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) has announced the resumption of its suspended second-semester examinations for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The institution suspended the exam following the killing of a final year student, Hamed Fabiyi  by suspected cultists on the campus .

Some cultists had stormed the school and took the student on his birthday, Machetes which led to his death.

The institution in the  statement released by the university’s Registrar, Dapo Oke, stated that the examinations will recommence on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Oke said the  exams scheduled for July 4th, 5th, and 8th, which were earlier suspended due to the killing  will be rescheduled.

Oke in the statement added that  the new dates for these examinations will be communicated by the appropriate university authorities within the week.

He  explained that the  suspension of the examinations was a precautionary measure taken in response to a breach of peace and security on the campus.

According to him, the university has since implemented enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of students, staff, and university property.

“The management has directed the resumption of the suspended second-semester examinations on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

“ Adequate security measures have been put in place to guarantee maximum security of lives and properties and to forestall any reoccurrence of the breach of peace and campus security,” stated Oke.

The Registrar expressed gratitude to the university community for their patience and understanding during the disruption.

“Management appreciates all stakeholders for their commitments and show of understanding during the unfortunate and unforeseen incident,” he added.

Students and staff are encouraged to stay informed through official university channels for any updates regarding the rescheduled examination dates and other pertinent information
