The Delta State Gubernatorial Candidate, Deacon Ken Pela has promised to pay civil servants 100 thousand new minimum wages if elected in the March 11th generation and House Assembly.
The labour governorship hopeful made this promise at a press conference on Tuesday in Asaba alongside the state party chairman, chief Tony Ezeagwu.
He noted that the Labour Party possesses the political integrity to turn the fortunes of the state around for the good of all citizens.
He maintained that Nigeria’s political space has witnessed an unprecedented revolution with the listing of the Labour Party in the ballot for the 2023 general election.
He said the labour mass movement that greeted the entry of the party’s Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, to the stage showed that Nigerians within and outside the country need a change of government from business as the usual style of politics.
He said the party had an impressive outing in the February 25 election in Delta and was set to repeat the feat in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
While unveiling his party’s empowerment plan that would see one hundred persons from each of the 25 local government areas of the state, said N1m interest free loan monthly, will be given out and market women would also benefit from the scheme to enable them grow their trades and become economically strong.
He added that ten new cities would be developed in the next four years, one in each Federal Constituency in the state, adding that the cities would have tourists attractions that would make them preferred destinations and shoot the state to the status of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
Earlier the State Chairman of the party, Chief Tony Ezeagwu, had debunk the alleged been bought over and aligning with political opponents to reduce the influence of the OBiDIENT MOVEMENT in Delta in the March 11 election
