    Deputy Gov., Clerics Advocate Unity  Amidst Religious Organizations Collaboration In Ogun

    The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, emphasised the importance of unity and dialogue among Muslims during the Abeokuta Mega Ramadan Lecture organized by twelve religious organizations in the state.

    Addressing attendees as the distinguished guest of honour, Salako-Oyedele celebrated the diversity of Ogun State, highlighting its various tribes and cultures. 

    Despite the diversity, she noted the unity that binds everyone together. 

    She urged Muslims to promote the virtues of Islam and emphasized the significance of coming together as one ummah to foster unity not only within Ogun State but also beyond. 

    She encouraged  active participation in the electoral process, stressing the need for openness to dialogue and collaboration to create an inclusive ummah.

    Dr. Afeez Oladimeji Musa, the director of Insight Institute for Islamic and Technical Studies, Abeokuta, delivered a thought-provoking lecture on “Inimitable Quran: Interacting with the Scripture, Reliving the Message.” 

    Dr. Musa underscored the importance of Muslims’ interaction with the message of Allah, emphasizing that many challenges stem from the way individuals deal with or behave in response to this message. 

    He urged all Muslims to believe in their Lord and embrace the teachings of the Quran, emphasizing Allah’s invitation for Muslims to work together and engage in activities that bind their hearts.

    Prof. Imam Taofik Abdul Azeez, whom is also  the National Chief  Missionary Dawah Front of Nigeria and Chief Imam of the University of Abuja, echoed the call for unity among Muslims. 

    He emphasized Allah’s command for Muslims to unite and urged them to wake up to the need for integration and collaboration.

    Prof. Azeez emphasized the consequences of disunity and the imperative of taking positive actions to fulfill Allah’s command.

    PLATFORM TIMES observed that the  Abeokuta Mega Ramadan Lecture served as a platform for reflection, dialogue, and communal engagement, with attendees expressing their commitment to promoting unity and cooperation among Muslims in Ogun State.

    PLATFORM TIMES reports that as the messages of tolerance and dialogue resounded throughout the gathering, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and solidarity, ready to embrace their diversity while celebrating their shared faith and values.

    PLATFORM TIMES gathered  that the  collaboration among twelve religious organizations in Ogun State demonstrates the power of unity and dialogue in fostering a sense of community and mutual understanding among diverse groups.
