Two persons have been reported dead in a fight over an outstanding N50 transportation fare in Yenegoa.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that a dispute arose between a tricycle operator and a passenger regarding an N50 balance for their fare.
It was reported that the tricycle operator proceeded to stab the passenger, who had refused to pay N150 and insisted on paying N100 for the fare
The angry tricycle driver was reported to have stabbed the commuter first before a mob in the Yenizue-Epie area of Yenagoa stoned the tricycle driver to death.
The incident has reportedly sprouted violence between the Hausa and the Yenizue-Epie communities of Yenagoa.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri has called for calm in the state, inviting the warring communities to a peace meeting.
