Easter: Remain Hopeful Amid Hardship, Tinubu Urges Nigerians

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and united despite the country’s current challenges, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace, security, and economic stability across the nation.

In his Easter message to Christians in Nigeria and across the world, the President extended warm greetings as the faithful commemorate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ—a period he described as one that embodies “sacrifice, redemption, love, and hope.”

“As President of our blessed nation, I draw inspiration from this timeless message of hope and renewal,” Tinubu stated, adding that his pledge to deliver a “Renewed Hope” agenda for a more prosperous and just Nigeria remains unshakable.

The President also acknowledged recent violent incidents and the resulting loss of lives in some parts of the country, expressing deep sadness over the events and pledging swift action.

“I understand the pain and fear these incidents have caused. Let me assure you that my administration’s resolve to restore peace and security remains unshakable,” he said. “Forces of evil will never prevail over our country.”

Tinubu disclosed that he had issued fresh directives to the Armed Forces and security agencies to tackle insecurity decisively, expressing confidence in the dedication of Nigeria’s military personnel.

“Thanks to the unwavering courage and commitment of our gallant men and women in uniform, we are turning the tide and making steady progress in reclaiming peace and stability,” he said.

On the economy, the President acknowledged the hardship Nigerians are facing but noted that indicators of recovery were beginning to emerge.

“We understand the economic challenges many of you are facing, and we are working tirelessly to restore investor confidence, stabilise key sectors, and build an inclusive economy that serves the interests of all Nigerians,” Tinubu said.

He also joined global well-wishers in thanking God for Pope Francis’s recovery from illness, describing the pontiff’s renewed strength as an inspiration to leaders worldwide.

As the nation celebrates Easter, Tinubu urged citizens to reflect on the symbolic triumph of good over evil and to allow the season to rekindle their faith in Nigeria’s future.

“The present moment may be cloudy, but it will usher in a glorious day,” he said. “Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our country triumph over every challenge we face.”

He concluded by encouraging Nigerians to remain resilient, united, and hopeful, stressing that the collective strength of the people would overcome all obstacles.

“May the risen Christ bless our homes with peace and our nation with continued unity and prosperity. Happy Easter to all my fellow Nigerians,” the President said.
