The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday, issued a stern warning to students of Rivers State University, cautioning them against engaging in internet-related fraudulent activities.
EFFC in it’s Twitter post, the warning was conveyed by ACE1 Commander of the commission’s Port Harcourt Zonal Command, Ghali Ahmed, during a Cyber Security Summit held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the university’s Nkpolu campus in Port Harcourt.
Speaking through ACE11 Helen Nagberi, Commander Ghali Ahmed emphasized the importance of ethical conduct and staying away from shortcuts that could lead to legal trouble.
Expressing deep concern about the growing menace of internet fraud, Ghali urged the students not to partake in such activities and to instead contribute positively to society.
Addressing the students, Ghali urged them to actively support the EFCC’s efforts in combating cybercrime by becoming exemplary ambassadors of integrity both within their households and the academic community.
He therefore stressed the significance of being role models and adhering to ethical principles in the digital realm.
