In a recent development, the socio-political group, Youth Involvement in Good Governance (YIGGOM), has expressed its unwavering support for the Egba Lokan Agenda in the upcoming 2027 gubernatorial race in Ogun State.
Following the Supreme Court’s confirmation of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s mandate until May 2027, YIGGOM emphasized the need for a visionary technocrat from Ogun Central Senatorial District to lead the state.
While acknowledging the aspirations of Ogun West Senatorial District, YIGGOM asserted that the Egba people, being highly qualified, should not be overlooked in their quest to reclaim the governorship.
In a statement signed by the National President, Olayiwola Ahmed, the group advocated for a technocrat with a passion for good governance and accountability to succeed Gov. Abiodun.
YIGGOM highlighted notable Egba individuals, including former Nigerian Ambassador Alhaji Sharafadeen Tunji Ishola, expressing interest in the 2027 governorship race.
However, the group firmly endorsed Dr. Gbenga Adeoye, a Chartered Accountant, lawyer, socio-economic development expert, and humanitarian, as the ideal candidate.
Emphasizing Adeoye’s qualifications and leadership qualities, YIGGOM described him as a dynamic individual with exemplary dedication to good governance and accountability.
The group expressed confidence that Dr. Gbenga Adeoye’s leadership could usher in a transformative era for Ogun State, making him the much-anticipated game-changer in the state’s affairs.
