Former owner of defunct Leventis United, John Mastoroudes says Augustine Eguavoen should remain in charge of the Super Eagles.
Eguavoen was drafted in by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to manage the Super Eagles for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
The Super Eagles defeated Benin Republic 3-0, and drew 0-0 against Rwanda.
With the NFF still searching for an expatriate to tinker the team, Mastoroudes has demanded that Eguavoen should stay on the job.
“Eguavoen should stay,” Mastouroudes, who served on the Presidential Task Force (PTF) that ensured the Super Eagles qualification to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa told Eagle7.fm.
“It will be fatal to change him now. He can qualify the country to the AFCON.
“After qualification, the question would be can he lead them to win the AFCON.”
