As Muslims around the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Senator Lawal Usman Adamu, the representative of Kaduna Central Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education (Basic and Secondary), has extended his felicitations to the Muslim Ummah and all Nigerians.

He urged the nation to use this period to reflect on the values of peace, security, and a healthy economy.

In a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant (Media), Segun Olatunji, Senator Adamu emphasized the importance of rising above personal, ethnic, group, and sectarian interests, calling on Nigerians to unite in prayer for the country’s revival in all aspects.

Adamu, affectionately known as Senator LA by his constituents, highlighted the significance of the Eid-el-Kabir festival beyond its festivities.

“As Muslim Ummah and Nigerian citizens, we must not allow today’s festivities to overshadow its significance and lessons for us as individuals and as a country,” Senator Adamu stated.

He stressed the need for Muslims to embody the principles of sacrifice and support for the less privileged, as mandated by Islamic teachings.

Senator Adamu, who also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions, called for a collective effort to combat selfishness, greed, and corruption, especially in these challenging times.

He urged all Nigerians, regardless of ethnic and religious differences, to foster peaceful coexistence, harmony, and tolerance.

He expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Kaduna Central, the entire Kaduna State, and all Nigerians on the occasion of the 2024 Eid-el-Adha.

He encouraged his constituents to continue their support for him and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), pledging to deliver more dividends of democracy that would empower the populace and enhance their livelihoods.

Reflecting on the teachings of Eid-el-Adha, Senator Adamu reminded everyone of the profound lesson from Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) submission to Allah.

“The lesson in this is for the entire world to value sacrifice in our relationship with one another,” he said. He emphasized the importance of demonstrating love and ensuring peace in all interactions.

He further added, “The times are hard, but as we celebrate Sallah today, let’s also remember the less fortunate ones. We must extend compassion, support, and assistance to one another, especially to these less privileged ones amongst us.

Compassion, love, and sacrifice are the bedrock of the message conveyed by Prophet Ibrahim in his trial and travail before Almighty Allah.”

Senator Adamu concluded by praying for more future celebrations marked by peace, prosperity, and good health. He urged Nigerians to continue putting their trust in Almighty Allah, even in the face of adversity, following the example set by Prophet Ibrahim.

The message from Senator Adamu resonates deeply, reminding Nigerians of the values of unity, compassion, and selflessness, especially during significant celebrations like Eid-el-Kabir.
