The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Lawal Adamu Usman, has called on Muslims to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud to offer fervent prayers for Nigeria’s peace, security, and economic recovery.
Usman, who chairs the Senate Committee on Education (Basic and Secondary) and also serves as Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Financial Matters, said the country is currently at a critical point and requires divine intervention to overcome its daunting challenges.
In a statement issued on Friday in Kaduna, the lawmaker, popularly known as Senator LA, congratulated Muslims across his constituency, Kaduna State, and the nation, urging them to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad by promoting justice, honesty, fairness, and peaceful coexistence.
He said, “My hope and prayer is that as we celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, we will internalise the spiritual lessons in the Prophet’s teachings on piety, honesty, justice, and love. If we faithfully apply them, it will be for the overall good of our beloved country and bring greater glory to the nation.”
Usman urged Muslims to remain committed to fostering unity and stability, stressing that Nigeria’s diversity should be a strength rather than a source of division.
While assuring his constituents of his continued commitment to their welfare, the senator pledged to deliver more projects and programmes that would improve access to basic necessities and bring the dividends of democracy closer to the people.
He added, “My pledge is to continue to work assiduously to make life better for the people of Kaduna Central and to alleviate the suffering of the less privileged.
On this special occasion, I extend warm greetings to the entire Muslim Ummah in Kaduna and across Nigeria. Happy Eid-el-Maulud.”
