The Chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cyber Security, Senator Shuaib Salisu, has urged Nigerian youths to embrace digitalisation for career advancement
Salisu made the call while receiving the Leadership Award of Excellence in Digital Transformation and Cyber Security on behalf of Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, at the 2025 Cyber Security Workshop held at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo.
He stressed that digitalisation, which represents the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is crucial for individuals, businesses, and government agencies seeking growth. He added that Governor Abiodun’s technology-driven policies have improved service delivery in Ogun State.
“The Ogun State government will continue to support individuals and organisations ready to leverage digital technology. There are many opportunities available at Ogun TechHub for career and business growth,” he said.
Special Adviser on ICT, Dayo Abiodun, commended Babcock University for recognising the governor’s efforts in digital transformation. He highlighted key projects such as education portals, land administration portals, and tax remittance platforms, which have enhanced efficiency in the state.
Babcock University’s Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Oludele Awodele, said the awards were given in recognition of the government’s commitment to promoting digital technology adoption.
The event, themed “Building A Resilient Cyber Security Ecosystem”, focused on strengthening collaboration between academia, industry, and government to enhance cyber security.
