EPL: Arteta confirms double Arsenal injury blow after 1-1 draw at Chelsea

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has revealed that Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice picked up knocks during their 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday.

Rice was replaced by Mikel Merino early in the second half, while Gabriel Jesus came on for Saka, who limped off the pitch.

When asked specifically about whether both midfielders would be able to play for England during the November international break, Arteta was not optimistic.

He said: “It doesn’t look good, because for two players of that importance to tell you they cannot continue in the game, obviously it’s not good news.

“They are two players that just came off, I don’t know whether to expect them to be fit because if they are, they don’t come off.”
