EPL: Arteta identifies two players to sign after renewing Arsenal contract

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has already identified two players he will buy next after signing a new three-year contract with the Premier League club.

Arteta has come agonisingly close to winning the league title in the last two seasons.

The Gunners have finished in second place on each occasion behind Manchester City.

This summer, in a bid to finally catch up with City, Arteta spent £92million on five signings including a loan deal for Raheem Sterling.

It left a lot of fans disappointed as no new centre-forward was brought in.

And according to The Times, Arteta wants to add more firepower by bringing in a unique attacking player in the next two windows.

This could see Arsenal re-explore a move for striker Benjamin Sesko who opted to sign a new deal with RB Leipzig over the summer amid much transfer interest.

Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams and Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala, were also looked at.

Additionally, Arteta is also very keen on a “young defensive midfielder”.
