Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain will leave the Premier League club at the end of the season, ESPN reports.
Since arriving at the Etihad in 2012, Begiristain has been a key part of the club’s success.
He played a key role in the appointment of Pep Guardiola as manager in 2016.
Begiristain’s departure will raise further questions about Guardiola’s future.
Guardiola is under contract until the end of this season and has so far refused to be drawn on his plans beyond the summer.
As well as appointing Guardiola, Begiristain was also crucial in helping sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
Begiristain and Guardiola are personal friends from their time at Barcelona.
