Former Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has claimed that William Saliba is better than Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
Jenkinson spoke when he recently appeared on talkSPORT.
When asked by former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent if Saliba is one of the best defenders in the world currently, Jenkinson said: “He is definitely in the conversation [as the best defender in the world]. I don’t watch enough football around the world to comment on if he is the best in the world.”
He added: “I think now, as we sit here, he’s better than Van Dijk. I think Van Dijk in his prime is one of the best the Premier League has ever seen.”
