EPL: Leave before transfer window closes – Maresca warns Chelsea star

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has categorically warned Raheem Sterling to leave the club before the summer transfer window closes on Friday night.

Maresca said Sterling and all the other players that are not training with the Blues’ first team will not get any minutes if they stay at the club beyond this summer’s transfer window.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday ahead of Chelsea’s Conference League play-off second leg tie with Servette on Thursday night, Maresca said:

“Raheem is a fantastic person, he trains very well. The only thing is; every manager has different ideas. I said in terms of the kind of winger, he is not one I like but it doesn’t mean nothing if he is not a good player. I think the history and numbers speak for Raheem.

“My advice – he knows exactly what he has to do. He doesn’t need my advice. Because I prefer to be honest with the player, with Raheem, I have been exactly the same.

“The ones who are not involved, they are all players who are not going to be involved and they don’t get any minutes in case they stay. It’s not just Raheem.

“It’s all the players who at this moment are training apart.”
