Manchester United have denied that manager Erik ten Hag dropped Alejandro Garnacho from his team to face Southampton, because he liked a social media post by Cristiano Ronaldo.
A couple of Ronaldo interviews have come out this week, in which the five-time Ballon d’Or criticized Ten Hag over his ambition.
Garnacho was spotted by eagle-eyed fans as one of the people who liked one of such posts.
The Argentina winger has been left out as United take on the Saints.
And according to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, “Man United sources guarantee that Alejandro Garnacho has not been dropped today due to his social media activity after liking Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments on Ten Hag.
“It’s described as a technical/tactical decision by Erik ten Hag.”
