Raheem Sterling will not wear the number 10 shirt at Arsenal as widely expected.
The 29-year-old arrived from London rivals Chelsea on deadline day on a one-season loan deal.
Before leaving Stamford Bridge, Sterling saw his no. 7 shirt taken away from him and handed to new signing, Pedro Neto.
He was expected to take the no. 10 shirt with the Gunners, following Emile Smith Rowe’s move to Fulham this summer.
However, Arsenal have confirmed that Sterling will now wear the no. 30 shirt for the club.
The England winger is expected to feature in Mikel Arteta’s side after the international break.
