Edu Gasper has spoken for the first time after Arsenal confirmed he was stepping down as their sporting director.
The former Brazil midfielder has reportedly agreed to take up a role with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
“Now it is time to pursue a different challenge,” Edu said in a statement on Monday.
“Arsenal will always remain in my heart.
“This was an incredibly hard decision to make.”
Edu was appointed in 2019 and is known to share a strong bond with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
Together, they have rebuilt the team into title contenders.
