A  former Nigerian Navy officer identified as Mohammed Tunde has been apprehended by the police in Lagos for purportedly offering his services to physically assault individuals on behalf of paying clients.

Mohammed Tunde, who was dismissed from the Nigerian Navy 24 years ago, resurfaced in the spotlight after being contracted to administer violence against a hotel staff member by a disgruntled customer.

According to Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos police, the suspect was apprehended in the act while assaulting the hotel staff alongside his accomplices.

“The suspect was apprehended while he and his boys were beating a hotel staff,” Hundeyin disclosed.

“The job was contracted to him by one of the hotel’s customers who had refused to stop smoking in a ‘no smoking’ area of the hotel.”

He charges N20,000 to bring his boys to beat up anybody for his clients.”

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that despite his dismissal from the Nigerian Navy in 2000, Mohammed Tunde continued to masquerade as an active-duty naval officer, perpetuating the facade of authority.

“The suspect was dismissed since 2000, but still parades himself as a naval officer,” emphasized Hundeyin.

Assurances have been made by the police spokesperson that the suspect will face legal repercussions for his actions, with plans underway to arraign him in court.
