Ex-US President Joe Biden Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

Former President of the United States, Joe Biden, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, a statement from his personal office confirmed on Sunday.

According to the statement, the 82-year-old was recently evaluated after experiencing worsening urinary symptoms.

Further examinations revealed a prostate nodule, leading to a diagnosis of prostate cancer, classified with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating a high-grade and aggressive tumour.

The cancer, the statement disclosed, has metastasised to the bone, which typically signifies an advanced stage of the disease.

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” the statement read.

Biden and his family are said to be in discussions with his medical team to determine the most suitable treatment plan moving forward.

The former President, who served from 2021 to 2025, has remained active in public discourse since leaving office and had previously indicated a desire to stay involved in Democratic politics.

This development has drawn concern and well-wishes from global leaders, political allies, and supporters alike, many of whom have expressed optimism over the treatment outlook given the cancer’s hormone sensitivity.

Biden’s office noted that further updates would be provided as treatment progresses.
