In a distressing turn of events, Shyngle Wigwe, the biological father of the late Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, collapsed on Saturday and was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
The news of his sudden health crisis was disseminated by Tony Ogbuagu, a well-known influencer on X (formerly Twitter), who refuted the circulating rumors of the senior Wigwe’s demise.
Ogbuagu clarified, stating, “Herbert Wigwe’s father is not dead, please.
He only slumped and has been taken to the hospital. Make una slow down with all these bad news.”
Despite the conflicting reports, dignitaries, guests, and numerous mourners congregated at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, for the funeral service of Wigwe, his wife Doreen, and their son Chizzy.
Previously reported by SaharaReporters, the tragic demise of Wigwe, his wife, and son occurred in a helicopter crash in the United States.
The combined funeral service took place on March 9, 2024, at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo.
The ill-fated incident transpired when the chopper, en route to Las Vegas, crashed near a border city between Nevada and California in February.
It was revealed that Wigwe had left Lagos State, Nigeria, on Wednesday to witness Super Bowl 58, an American football competition, held on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
