In a recent statement, the Federal Government has praised the Dangote Group for its significant contributions to the diversification of Nigeria’s economy.

The government lauded the conglomerate’s commitment to promoting best practices across all its operations.

During a visit to the Dangote Cement plant in Ibese, Ogun State, the Minister of State for Environment, Dr Iziaq Saloko, expressed satisfaction with Dangote Industries’ international standing and its proactive approach in ensuring best practices in manufacturing.

Salako, along with his entourage, emphasized the importance of mining as a key sector targeted for economic diversification under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He commended Dangote Cement for its substantial contribution to job creation and the creation of opportunities for export, particularly with the continent’s second-largest cement plant located in Ogun State.

The Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya, representing Governor Dapo Abiodun, acknowledged the positive impact of Dangote Cement on the state’s economy through levies and taxes.

He urged increased collaboration between state agencies and the company to further enhance the well-being of host communities.

During the visit, Plant Director Mr Azad Nawabuddin outlined the social investments and infrastructural milestones achieved by the Dangote Cement plant since its inception.

He highlighted the company’s substantial contributions to infrastructure development and employment in the host communities, emphasizing its role in supporting the economic diversification efforts of both the State and Federal Governments.

Additionally, Nawabuddin highlighted the plant’s role in exporting cement and clinker to neighboring countries, contributing to foreign exchange inflow into the country.
