The former Emir of Kano State, Mohammad Sanusi II, has criticized the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the last general elections, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, and other APC stalwarts for attempting to seize power after losing the elections.
Sanusi, in a viral video talking speaking at a lesson session on accepting destiny, emphasized that the APC leaders, including the National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, made moves to hijack power through the court process, not realizing that God was waiting for their actions.
He expressed gratitude for the Supreme Court’s decision setting aside lower courts’ rulings, stating, “God has given the people of Kano State what they voted for.”
Sanusi urged politicians to embrace democracy, emphasizing that accepting destiny is crucial after the polls.
He criticized the attempt to use corrupt judges to gain power, stating, “It’s too late.”
While extending prayers for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s success, Sanusi emphasized the importance of fulfilling campaign promises, noting that if the governor fails, the electorate has the power to vote him out.
He concluded by urging politicians to learn from developed democracies and avoid going to court unless they are sure of winning an election.
