In a solemn ceremony, the late former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, was laid to rest in Kano state.

The funeral prayer, held at Kofar Kudu, Kano Emir’s palace, commenced at 4:00 PM. A federal government delegation, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, paid their respects at the ceremony.

Distinguished figures in attendance included former Kano State Governors Ibrahim Shekarau and Rabiu Kwankwaso, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Kano State governor, Speaker, and House of Representatives members, among others.

The prayer session was conducted by Kano Chief Imam, Prof. Sani Zaharadeen.

Ghali Na’Abba, who passed away earlier on Wednesday, 27 December, at the age of 65, had represented Kano Municipal Federal Constituency.

He secured his seat in the National Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 1999 elections.

Survived by a wife, ten children, and three grandchildren, Na’Abba leaves behind a legacy marked by his contributions to Kano State and the nation at large.
