Mr Ehizua Imohimi, the founder of IntedPro (an international student recruitment platform) says his company tends to work with the Federal Government to create merit-based access to global education and skills training for Nigeria Students.
Imohimi speaks on this and many more in this interview with our Correspondent
Who is Ehizua Imohimi and what is the story and idea behind IntedPro?
Ehizua Imohimi is an education entrepreneur and innovator passionate about democratizing access to global education. My journey began with firsthand exposure to the challenges many international students face in accessing quality higher education abroad. In 2008 my friend and business partner had gone to study in Malaysia, then Singapore, and eventually Australia. So, we started helping student from Africa to study in Asia, then from Asia to Australia. That biirthed OAA (Opportunities Africa Australia) Study with offices in 12 countries.In recent year, to streamline the student recruitment process many Edtech companies were founded, one even became a unicorn, but none understood the African students need like we did and for us it’s an experience being international student ourselves.That experience inspired me to build IntedPro, an education technology company focused on bridging this gap.
IntedPro is Africa’s first AI-powered international student recruitment platform—designed to make studying abroad more accessible, transparent, and efficient.We help students across Africa connect with global institutions, especially in Australia, through a simplified, tech driven process that reduces the friction usually associated with international admissions.It’s a platform born out of purpose—to empower futures through education.
Your profile shows that you are a politician. How did you end up in politics, being a tech person?
Well, I wouldn’t say I am a politician. Yes, I had the privilege of running as Vice Presidential candidate in Nigeria’s 2019 elections under the Change Nigeria Party (CNP). That move
wasn’t about career politics—it was about advocacy. I’ve always believed that if we want to see sustainable solutions in education, youth development, and innovation, we must also be part of the policymaking process.
My background in education and technology gave me insight into the structural changes needed to create inclusive opportunities. Politics became a platform for amplifying that vision, not a departure from it. I still work in education management full-time, but my political experience has enriched my understanding of systems and how to scale meaningful impact.
From your profile, you seem to have worked with some Australian universities and colleges. Can you explain further what the relationship is all about?
Certainly.Over the last 15 years, through OAA study, the company I co-founded, I’ve worked closely with several Australian institutions, Like University of Newcastle, James
Cook University, University of Technology Sydney and Torrens University Australia to mention a few. Like during the COVID-19 pandemic, OAA study facilitated the enrolment of
over 800 African students into online programs with an Australian university (Torrens University) at a time when many institutions globally were struggling to maintain enrolment.
Collectively, we’ve generated over AUD $50 million in tuition revenue for Australian universities and colleges, while also supporting students with healthcare coverage through partnerships with providers like Allianz OSHC and Medibank Private.
These collaborations reflect a deep mutual interest in internationalizing education and expanding opportunities for students from emerging markets.
The Nigerian Ministry of Education says it has some youth-centric programmes. Are you planning or already working with the FG, vis-à-vis the Ministry, to provide this international
recruitment opportunity for Nigerian youths and students?
We’re absolutely open to collaboration, and conversations have started in various informal
capacities. Our mission at IntedPro aligns closely with the Ministry’s goals—especially when it comes to youth development, skills acquisition, and international competitiveness.
Our technology and expertise can complement existing government programs by creating
pipelines for merit-based access to global education and skills training. We’re particularly
interested in building sustainable partnerships that don’t just help students leave Nigeria but
equip them to become global citizens who eventually contribute back to their communities.
