No fewer than four hoodlums were arrested with a pistol and a knife in Abeokuta on Saturday.
PLATFORMTIMES gathered that the hoodlums were arrested by Soldiers at Sapon as they were reportedly on their way to cause mayhem at a polling unit.
One of the soldiers at a road block in Sapon disclosed this to reporters during a stop and search operation.
He had a brief chat with journalists who were on their way for election coverage.
The soldier said that four persons have been arrested with dangerous weapons which include a gun and a knife .
He explained that the development made them intensify security efforts clamping down on commuters on the road.
He said “when you see soldiers being hard on anyone, he is not just punishing anyone .
“We arrested four people with gun and knife . What are they doing with the gun and knife at the polling unit?
“I ask you, can you tell me what a voter wants to do with a gun and a knife. If they escape from police, they cannot escape from soldiers , we will catch them.”
Meanwhile, another suspected hoodlum was seeing doing a frog jump under the Sapon bridge after being caught walking aimlessly by security officers.
