The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), ushered in its 31st Convocation Ceremony on Friday, January 19, 2024, with a spirited Jumat Prayer at the University Mosque.

The sacred occasion, marked by its commencement at 1 p.m., served as a unifying force, bringing together the entire university community in a moment of profound spiritual unity.

The echoes of prayers reverberated through the campus, setting the tone for a week-long celebration that promises to be a harmonious blend of spirituality, intellectual discourse, and academic achievement.

Continuing the festive momentum, an Interdenominational Church Service is slated for Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the University Chapel of Grace.

Scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., the service aims to encapsulate a spirit of spiritual reflection.

It is anticipated to be a memorable occasion, as the Convocation unfolds as a mosaic of spiritual fervor, intellectual discourse, and academic triumph for the entire University community.

Anticipation mounts as the university prepares to host a Press Conference on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, within the distinguished Red Chamber.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., a congregation of members of the press and University officials will convene for an enlightening session, shedding light on the intricacies of the upcoming convocation events.

This insightful interaction promises to provide a comprehensive understanding of the week’s schedule and key highlights.

The academic zenith of the convocation week is undoubtedly the Convocation Lecture scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2024.

Distinguished scholar Prof. Yakubu Ochefu, the Secretary-General of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), is poised to deliver a captivating lecture titled “From Baby Boomers to Generation Alpha: Interrogating Generational Dynamics and Agriculture Education in Nigeria.”

The Lecture, set to transpire at the Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building at 3:00 p.m., promises an insightful exploration of critical themes.

Culminating this week-long jubilation will be the highly anticipated Award of First and Higher Degrees, Postgraduate Diploma, and Honorary Degrees on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

The  Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building will serve as the grand stage for this momentous occasion, commencing at 10:00 a.m. Graduates, dignitaries, and esteemed guests will converge to celebrate the academic accomplishments of the university’s distinguished individuals.

In a noteworthy announcement, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Morufat Dawodu, the Acting Registrar of FUNAAB, expressed her fervent enthusiasm for the vibrant week ahead.

Her proclamation not only reflects administrative insight but also resonates with the collective excitement that envelops the university community, embodying the spirit of achievement, unity, and intellectual growth synonymous with FUNAAB.
