Gambaryan: Deploy diplomacy in Nnamdi Kanu’s case – Ejimakor to UK Govt

Aloy Ejimakor, the lead counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has urged the British government to explore diplomatic means in the case of the pro-Biafra agitator.

Ejimakor accused the British government of weakness over Kanu’s continued detention.

He was reacting to the decision of the Nigerian government to drop all charges against an executive of Binance Holdings Limited, Tigran Gambaryan.

The Nigerian government had dropped all money laundering charges against Gambaryan citing diplomatic reasons.

DAILY POST recalled that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had in April arraigned Gambaryan for alleged money laundering.

Gambaryan, a United States citizen, has been in detention since February following the clampdown on the cryptocurrency firm over alleged manipulation of the naira.

Kanu has been detained on the orders of the Nigerian government without much involvement of the British government.

Ejimakor posted on X: “NEWS: Today, the Government of Nigeria dropped all charges against Tigran Gambaryan, an American citizen, citing “diplomatic reasons”.

“That @10DowningStreet has not deployed similar “diplomatic reasons” to #FreeMNK makes UK look weak and somewhat complicit.”
