Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Kingsley Moghalu has described Hamas as a cynical terrorist organization that uses innocent Gaza civilians as human shields.
Moghalu said this could be seen in the manner Hamas attacked Israel on Oct.7, the massacres of hostages, and recently its refusal to accept several peace deals.
In a post on his X handle on Monday, Moghalu suggested that there must be a two-state solution to the conflict with the security of both Palestinians and Israel guaranteed.
He, however, stressed that Hamas should not be allowed to control Gaza.
Moghalu’s post read: “Despite its successful propaganda in portraying itself as the victim in the Gaza war, Hamas is a cynical terrorist organization that uses innocent Gaza civilians as human shields and pawns in its designs on Israel’s security. October 7, the massacres of hostages, Hamas’ refusal to accept several peace deals points to this reality.
“There must be a two-state solution to the Palestine conflict, with the security of both Palestinians and Israel guaranteed, but Hamas should not control Gaza in the morning after.
“This does not absolve @netanyahu of his “original sin” of cynically preferring Hamas to control Gaza over the Palestinian Authority as an excuse to preclude a lasting peace in the area. Nor does it absolve the clear violations of international humanitarian law committed by both Israel and Hamas in the conflict.”
