In a startling revelation, Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, stands accused of allegedly scheming to pocket a staggering $30 billion in looted funds.
The funds, alongside 66 prime properties linked to ex-President Buhari’s aide, Tunde Sabiu, have reportedly become the center of a controversy involving a Special Investigator, Jim Obazee.
The Aso Rock cabal, comprising the Chief of Staff and others, is purportedly obstructing the government’s takeover of four banks seized by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
There are claims of backdoor dealings and efforts to influence the return of the banks to their former owners.
President Tinubu’s Special Investigator, Jim Obazee, has faced alleged misinformation campaigns by the cabal, aiming to thwart his investigations.
Despite these challenges, Obazee’s determination has led to the recovery of the seized banks, revealing a web of connections between top government officials and suspected looters.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the cabal’s attempts to manipulate Obazee into compromising his investigations have reportedly failed, leading to financial constraints imposed on his team.
It was further gathered that despite repeated directives from President Tinubu to adequately fund the investigative operations, the cabal seems to be hindering their progress.
Meanwhile, Tunde Sabiu, linked to the looted funds and prime properties, has reportedly agreed to refund $30 billion and forfeit 30% of the identified properties.
However, a twist emerged when Gbajabiamila allegedly intercepted the negotiations, sidelining the Special Investigator and directing Sabiu to deal exclusively with him.
It was further gathered that Gbajabiamila purportedly informed Sabiu that President Tinubu had endorsed him to oversee the recovery process, revealing plans to siphon 80% of the recovered funds to high-ranking officials.
Shocked by this revelation, Sabiu and his lawyer cut ties with the Special Investigator, following Gbajabiamila’s instructions.
As the Special Investigator prepares a comprehensive report on these developments, questions arise about the integrity of the recovery process and the alleged interference by Gbajabiamila in what was intended to be a transparent investigation initiated by President Tinubu.
