The Gateway Front Foundation (GFF), in partnership with Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on Tuesday unveiled a five-year food and humanitarian intervention programme in Ijebu North East Local Government Area.
Tagged the 2025–2030 Food Security & Humanitarian Funding Initiative, the project is designed to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by providing sustained palliative support to vulnerable groups across the Ogun East Senatorial District.
The initiative also marked the formal launch of the GFF Loyalty ATM Card, a digitised support platform aimed at delivering emergency assistance for food, medication, and essential needs to mothers, widows, children, and low-income households.
The card is fully integrated into Nigeria’s commercial banking system, ensuring beneficiaries can easily access intermittent disbursements.
According to Senator Daniel, who represents Ogun East at the National Assembly, the programme reflects a renewed commitment to grassroots impact, leveraging technology, transparency, and local partnerships to deliver timely support.
“This is about ensuring no one is left behind,” he said at the launch event. “Through the GFF Loyalty Card, we are using a structured, accountable system to deliver relief directly to the people who need it most.”
The rollout is being piloted across four local government areas in Ogun East, with plans to expand to all nine LGAs in the district.
GFF says the programme is backed by a robust backend system supported by technology consultants and a partnering commercial bank, ensuring real-time tracking and seamless fund distribution.
In addition to the new palliative initiative, the GFF reaffirmed its commitment to existing programmes including:
The Eye Care and Surgery Initiative, offering critical optical care to underserved residents.
Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Projects, aimed at equipping women and youth with vocational training.
Educational Support Schemes, including scholarships and school enrollment assistance for children.
Since its founding in 2000, GFF has implemented numerous social intervention projects across the South West, focusing on healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.
The Foundation called on Nigerians to embrace collective responsibility, noting that inclusive development requires collaboration across all levels.
“This initiative aligns seamlessly with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Senator Daniel added. “It is a practical example of what can be achieved when government, civil society, and citizens work together.”
The event was attended by traditional rulers, community leaders, stakeholders, and beneficiaries, who commended the initiative as timely and impactful in light of recent economic pressures following fuel subsidy reforms.
