    Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s Interventions in Water Supply and Sanitation

    Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving access to clean water and sanitation across Adamawa State. His administration has executed numerous urban and rural water projects, significantly enhancing water infrastructure and service delivery. Below are some of the key projects implemented under his leadership:

    1. Construction of 7 modular water schemes in Madagali.

    2. 4 km pipeline expansion and replacement of solar surface pump in Gulak.

    3. Upgrade of the Michika water supply system, including 13 km of reticulation.

    4. Provision of solar-powered boreholes, 200m³ Ground Water Tank (GWT), 150m³ Elevated Water Tank (EWT), and pipe networks in Bazza.

    5. Installation of solar-powered boreholes, 200m³ GWT, 150m³ EWT, and 9 km of pipeline in Hildi.

    6. Rehabilitation of Mubi Water Treatment Plant (300,000 liters/hour) in Mubi North.

    7. Development of a water supply scheme to Geylla from Gude town in Mubi South.

    8. Rehabilitation and upgrade of Hong water supply system in Hong.

    9. Rehabilitation and upgrade of Pella water supply system in Pella.

    10. Rehabilitation and upgrade of Gombi water supply scheme, including 12 km of reticulation.

    11. Installation of reticulation network and solar-powered boreholes in Garkida.

    12. Provision of solar-powered boreholes, 200m³ GWT, 150m³ EWT, and 7 km of pipeline in Murke.

    13. Upgrade of the Maiha water supply scheme, including 7 km of pipeline.

    14. Provision of solar-powered boreholes, 200m³ GWT, 150m³ EWT, and 3 km of pipeline in Belel.

    15. Construction of a 450m³ EWT and 11.7 km of reticulation in Fufore.

    16. Installation of a 20 km pipeline of various sizes and construction of a conference hall in Yola Town.

    17. Provision of a dedicated water supply to the School of Nursing and Midwifery in Yola Town.

    18. Desilting of raw water intake at the Yola Water Treatment Plant, Jimeta.

    19. Repair of damaged pumping systems in the Jimeta Water Supply at Bekaji.

    20. Provision of a solar-powered water scheme at the Fintiri 1000 Housing Estate, Malkohi, Jimeta.

    21. Rehabilitation and upgrade of the Numan Water Treatment Plant, including 15 km of reticulation.

    22. Construction of a 55m³ EWT at Numan General Hospital.

    23. Rehabilitation and upgrade of the Ganye water supply scheme, including 11 km of pipeline.

    24. Rehabilitation and upgrade of the Shelleng water supply scheme, including 5.7 km of pipeline.

    These interventions reflect Governor Fintiri’s dedication to improving public health, enhancing livelihoods, and promoting sustainable development through reliable access to clean and safe water.
