In a proactive move to address the pressing issue of rainfall scarcity in Gombe State, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has issued a directive, asking  civil servants in the state to assemble in their respective churches and mosques on Tuesday morning for a collective prayer for rain.

Governor Yahaya’s directive transcends religious affiliations, urging all civil servants to participate in this crucial endeavor to bring relief to the state’s dry conditions.

This directive was communicated through a statement signed by Yakubu Mamman on behalf of the State Acting Head of Civil Service and was further detailed by the governor’s spokesperson, Ismaila Uba Misilli, on Monday.

The scheduled prayer will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 8:00 a.m.

During this three-hour prayer session, both Christian and Muslim civil servants are encouraged to gather at their respective places of worship to seek divine intervention for much-needed rainfall.

The statement outlines that all civil servants are expected to return to work at 11:00 a.m. following the conclusion of the prayer.
