Hardship: Tinubu’s actions don’t match his words – Kalu Aja

Amid biting economic hardship and hike in fuel price, Kalu Aja, a financial analyst and educator, says President Bola Tinubu’s actions don’t match his words.

Aja stated that Tinubu’s problem lies in his hordes of defenders seeing no wrong in anything he does.

In a post on his X handle, the financial expert said he was attacked by the President’s supporters when he criticized Tinubu’s long convoy when he visited Lagos.

He also explained that Tinubu proceeded to buy his jet with no pushback and added SUVs for the First Lady in his very first budget.

The post read: “The problem TINUBU has is that his actions don’t match his words. The very first “critical” post I made on President TINUBU was in his convoy when he came to Lagos; I remember the pushback I got.

“Tinubu’s problem is his hordes of defenders who see no wrong in anything he does or spends.
The criticism of that long convoy came after BAT had spoken in line with prudence and sacrifice.

“If his supporter had challenged the optics of a 200 plus gas guzzling car convoy early and forcefully, then perhaps the President would not have added SUVs for the First Lady in his very first budget, which is designed to signal his economic intent.

“Think about it: if the First Lady needed an SUV, many MDAs would fall over themselves to provide it; the reason why that budget item line was put there was to legitimatize the office; that was a tell to how the President see the federal resources. With no pushback, Tinubu proceeded to buy his jet.

“Let’s be clear: all these expenditures may be necessary for security or otherwise, but the President does not understand optics or does not care.”
