Suspected armed bandits have killed a housewife and injured another villager in separate attacks on communities in Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 21, 2025, was detailed in a formal report from the Overseer of Kufana District, Mr. Stephen Maikori, to the Agom Kufana, His Royal Highness of Kufana Chiefdom.

According to the report, the attack began around 2:00 a.m. in Ungwan Sarki Hausa village, Rimau Community, where a gang of armed men—believed to be fleeing with rustled cattle from Gwaraje in neighboring Kauru LGA—stormed the village. During the chaos, a woman identified as Mrs. Alheri Danzaria was killed. Two other villagers were abducted but later released by the assailants.

Later that morning, around 7:00 a.m., a second attack occurred in Kallah Community.

The gunmen, while rustling cattle, shot a farmer, Mr. Iliya Barde, who was on his way to the farm.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently receiving treatment for gunshot wounds.

“These recurring attacks have caused heightened fear and anxiety among residents and disrupted the peace and livelihood of the affected communities,” Maikori stated, calling for urgent intervention to strengthen security in the region.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, said he would verify the details and revert, but he had not done so as at the time of filing this report.
