A survivor of the collapsed two-storey building in Apapa Government Reserved Area, Lagos, Obinna David broke his silence, saying, he cheated death by the whiskers.
The survivor was working in the building site when the incident happened .
He was reportedly rescued by well meaning Nigerians, shortly after the incident on Sunday.
While narrating his experience, David said it was only him and a carpenter that came to work on the day the building collapsed because others left for Sallah holiday.
He said: “I was sleeping and heard a sound. I came out thinking it was the carpenter that had started work, but I did not see anybody. I went back to continue sleeping. I heard a second sound only for me to discover that the building had collapsed.
“It was only me that was inside the building at the time of the incident because the carpenter had gone out.
“When the building collapsed, I sustained injuries in my hands because I had to jump to a nearby building and was helped by people around.”
