In its unwavering dedication to fostering peace and unity across Nigeria, the PIN has employed a multifaceted strategy that resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Dr. Michael Olufemi Sodipo, the visionary leader behind PIN, while speaking with PLATFORM TIMES in an exclusive interview underscores the organization’s commitment to inclusivity, stating, “We have programmes for almost everybody.”
He added that at the heart of PIN’s outreach efforts are the Peace Clubs, strategically established in schools nationwide.
He said “through education, sports, and empowerment, we are sowing the seeds of peace that will bear fruit for generations to come.”

According to him,from primary to tertiary institutions, these clubs serve as nurturing grounds for peace education, instilling essential values of tolerance, empathy, and conflict resolution in the minds of the next generation. By engaging students during their formative years, PIN lays a solid foundation for a future where peaceful coexistence is paramount.
Recognizing the unifying power of sports, Sodipo said PIN extends its influence through initiatives like Peace School Sports.
Leveraging the universal appeal of football, basketball, and other sports, he stated that this project transcends ethnic and cultural barriers, fostering a deep sense of national pride and camaraderie.
As Dr. Sodipo aptly observes, “When Nigeria is playing football like Super Eagles, nobody cares where you are from.” Through sports, PIN harnesses the spirit of competition to promote unity and solidarity among Nigerians of diverse backgrounds.
In addition to youth engagement, he explained that PIN is committed to empowering marginalized groups, particularly women and young people, through targeted initiatives.
He added that by providing skills training, mentorship, and economic opportunities, PIN seeks to uplift communities that have been historically marginalized, amplifying their voices in the pursuit of peace and development. Programmes like The Youth and Women Empowerment initiative address systemic inequalities head-on, empowering individuals to become catalysts for positive change in their communities.
According to Sodipo,the success of PIN’s holistic approach lies in its ability to address the root causes of conflict while simultaneously nurturing a culture of peace and inclusivity.
He stated that by targeting audiences across the spectrum, from students to women and youth, PIN ensures that no segment of society is left behind in the journey towards a more peaceful Nigeria.
