Police in Ogun State have arrested a 33-year-old woman, Ifeoma Ossai, for killing her landlord, Monday Oladele, over disagreement on electricity bill payment.
Ossai and Oladele were said to have been in exchange of words over electricity bill payment in the apartment.
The suspect insisted that she won’t pay her bills except water supply was connected and running in her apartment as earlier promised by the Landlord.
Ossai enraged by her landlord’s comment grabbed him by his manhood while he slumped in the process.
Oladele, 55, was confirmed dead on arrival at a General Hospital in Ota.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident through a press statement, on Tuesday.
He added that the suspect has since been taken into custody for further investigation.
The statement read, “Men of Ogun state Police Command on Saturday 11th of March 2023, arrested a 33-year old woman, Ifeoma Ossai, for killing her 50-year old landlord, Monday Surulere Oladele, over a minor disagreement.
“The suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Sango Ota divisional headquarters by one Olaleye Taiwo, who reported that his brother, Monday Oladele has a disagreement with his tenant over the payment of electricity bill, and in the process, the said tenant grabbed the manhood of the deceased and dragged him with it.
“Consequently, the landlord fell unconsciously on the ground and he was rushed to General Hospital, Ota where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead.”
The police therefore revealed that the corpse has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Frank Mba, has ordered further investigation and diligent prosecution while the body has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
