The Deputy Governor-elect of Adamawa State, Prof Kaletapwa Farauta, has emphasized that she knew the risks involved in leaving her job as the Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University for politics.
She stated that she knew it was either a win or a loss when she accepted to become the running mate to the incumbent Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, as prompted by the people of her community and Fintiri himself.
“Life is about taking risks and whatever you do in life amounts to taking risks. I knew that when I left the classroom and university environment to take up being the running mate of a sitting governor, it was either I win or I lose,” Farauta said.
She acknowledged this during an interview on Channels TV ‘Politics Today’, that her community prompted her decision and her boss also played a significant role in her resignation from the university.
Farauta expressed her belief that God orders people’s destinies and whatever one takes up in life is a risk.
She called on all parties and residents of the state to come together for the growth of the state, saying that the things that unite the people of Adamawa are more significant than those that divide them.
“If we focus on things that unite us as Adamawa citizens and Nigerians, we will build a better Adamawa State for ourselves and our children yet unborn,” she said.
