The Oluomo of Yewaland and Chairman of IBD Impex Ltd/IBD International Hotels Ltd, Chief Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to a Federal University of Technology.

Chief Egungbohun, popularly known as IBD Dende, described the development as a major milestone for Yewaland, expressing delight over the transformation of the institution.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Elder Adetokunbo Fakeye, the business mogul commended the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for championing the bill that led to the elevation of the polytechnic.

“As Oluomo of Yewaland, I most sincerely, on behalf of the entire indigenes, extend our appreciation to Mr. President for this great gift,” the statement read.

“I also commend our own God-given, industrious son of Yewaland, Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi (Aremo of Yewaland), who presented and facilitated the bill before the floor of the House.”

IBD Dende further congratulated the Paramount Ruler and Olu of Ilaro, HRM Oba Kehinde Olugbenle (MFR), as well as the people of Ogun West for the historic achievement.

He described the new status of the institution as a “plus for Yewaland” and a welcome development that would boost educational advancement and socio-economic growth in the region.
