Ugochinyere said, “This is Ozumme, there are three erosion sites, all connected to Urualla gully erosion, Arab contractors handling the project with world bank because of some misunderstandings caused primarily by the state government, the world bank pulled away the 9bn naira they were investing. This was caused partly by our people, greed at the time.
“It’s only concerted efforts from the federal and state governments that can remedy this situation. If this continues and cut off, Urualla people can no longer connect to civilization. I’m pleading with the government to come to the rescue of Urualla people. It’s on the verge of extinction, it’s hitting everywhere. We need intervention to save ideato. We appreciate the federal and state government for listening to our plea, we will be coming with the requests, motions, advocacy.”
