Ifo Community Talks Tough Over Removal Of Oluomo As Ogun Assembly Speaker

In a resolute stance against what it  deem an unjust removal, the Ifo Community Consultative Forum has issued a strong rebuke over the abrupt ousting of  Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo as the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly.

The  community in its statement, signed by Alhaji Waheed Adekunle, Secretary of the organisation expressed  profound displeasure on behalf of the people of Ifo Community.

The forum criticised the perceived high-handed manner in which  Oluomo was removed, emphasising its  contention with the gestapo-like tactics employed and the lack of concrete evidence to support the reasons behind the decision.

Highlighting Ogun State’s reputation for political civility and the presence of eminent leaders, the forum lamented the departure from decorum in the recent actions of the State House of Assembly.

The community said it regarded it as a regrettable new low in the conduct of the assembly’s affairs.

The community said  Oluomo, a longstanding representative of Ifo Constituency 1, has a distinguished record of service since 2011, having served creditably in various capacities.

The forum pointed out his impressive credentials, including chairing impactful committees and holding leadership roles in previous assemblies, hinting at a possible conspiracy behind the sudden change in leadership.

Expressing unwavering confidence in Oluomo’s capabilities, the statement called for a decorous approach in changing leaders with such intimidating credentials, suspecting foul play in the process.

The forum appealed to the abundance of political leaders within Ogun State, urging their prompt intervention to resolve the ongoing imbroglio.

The community portrayed Oluomo as an illustrious son in whom the people in the community  take pride, emphasising their confidence in his unwavering representation.

The forum asserted that despite the challenges, Oluomo’s past contributions remained imperishable, and they suspect a conspiracy behind the current situation.

In a bold and unequivocal declaration, the forum warned those involved in any conspiracy to brace themselves for potential retribution, echoing the timeless adage, ‘History will vindicate the just.’

The community concluded with a powerful reminder that the clock of retribution is still ticking, urging vigilance from the actors in the unfolding drama.
