As part of the efforts to rid the country of criminals, 1 Division of the Nigerian Army has introduced a toll-free line, 08000020204.
This was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday by the acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 1 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya.
According to him: “Given the security challenges in the 1 Division Nigerian Army Area of Responsibility that covers Kaduna, Niger, Kano and Jigawa states, the Division has introduced a toll-free line number, 08000020204, for reporting security-related issues.
“This is to enable the general public to report emergency cases and lodge complaints with the Division for quick response. It is also to assist the general public in sending timely information on the activities of terrorists, insurgents, violent extremists, bandits and their collaborators, as well as other issues of security concern that would assist the Division and other security agencies in protecting lives and properties within the Division’s Area of Responsibility.”
Lt Col Yahaya said further: “Dial the toll-free line and follow the interactive voice prompt to report emergencies or lodge complaints. Kindly note that all calls and messages received on the line are free and will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, while sources will be given adequate protection.”
