Abuja is set to host a prestigious cultural event as Ridwan ADK-Osinowo unveils his exclusive three-day Islamic Art Exhibition, “Alhamdulillahi Goma-Goma” (The Art of Appreciation II), which promises to captivate the hearts and minds of art lovers, scholars, and cultural enthusiasts.
The exhibition, which is centered around the theme of gratitude, will open its doors on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, at the Art Pavilion located opposite Radio House, beside Abuja ICC, Herbert Macaulay Way.
The grand opening ceremony will commence at 2:00 PM, and the exhibition will run until Thursday, 13th February 2025.
“Alhamdulillahi Goma-Goma” features a curated collection of paintings, mixed media, and intricate wood routing, each piece a testament to the artist’s deep engagement with Islamic calligraphy, spiritual reflection, and cultural heritage.
Through these works, Ridwan ADK-Osinowo invites visitors to reflect on the transformative power of gratitude, expressed in the Islamic phrase Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah).
The exhibition’s unique fusion of Arabic calligraphy with modern artistic techniques highlights the artist’s creative mastery and deep connection to Islamic spirituality.
Ridwan’s innovative approach, blending rich symbolism and contemporary artistic methods, exemplifies his dedication to exploring the intersection of faith, art, and personal transformation.
Abdulfattah Adeyemi, a Fellow of the Society of Nigerian Artists, once described Ridwan as “not just an artist but a versatile creator whose passion for exploration knows no bounds.”
His diverse use of materials such as fiberglass, aluminium, acrylic, and wood further cements his reputation as a pioneer in Arabic calligraphy and a leading innovator in Islamic art.
The exhibition’s opening will be graced by prominent figures from various sectors, including governance, law, and Islamic scholarship.
Special guests of honour will include Distinguished Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu of Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Heebah Kingibe of the FCT, and Hajiya (Barr.) Hannatu Musa Musawa, Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture & Creative Economy.
Professor Yusuf Ali, SAN, Principal Partner at Ghalib Chambers, will chair the occasion, while spiritual fathers such as Imam Prof. Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari, Chief Imam of the National Mosque, and Dr. Musa Olaofe, Chief Imam of Ansar-Ud-Deen Mosque, will add a spiritual dimension to the event.
The exhibition is expected to attract art lovers, policymakers, and intellectuals interested in exploring how Islamic art can serve as a bridge between faith, culture, and intellectual discourse.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with stunning visual tafseer (Qur’anic interpretation) and the deeper narratives embedded in Islamic artistic traditions.
For those looking to experience the transformative power of Islamic art,
“Alhamdulillahi Goma-Goma” is a must-visit event that celebrates both the beauty of the Islamic faith and the boundless creativity of Ridwan ADK-Osinowo.
