Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has expressed confidence that Nigerian athletes will make the nation proud at the ongoing 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Speaking with journalists at the event, Salako-Oyedele, who is part of the Nigerian Sports Commission’s delegation, said Team Nigeria is set to compete with passion, excellence and national pride.
According to her, the Islamic Solidarity Games present yet another golden platform for Nigerian athletes to showcase their skills, discipline, and competitive spirit on the international stage.
She described Nigeria’s participation in the multi-nation tournament as “a proud moment for the country,” adding that the athletes’ commitment and resilience reflect the nation’s sports potential.
“The invitation to be part of this global event underscores the growing recognition Ogun State has earned in sports development under the visionary leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun,” she stated.
Salako-Oyedele further noted that Ogun’s successful hosting of the National Sports Festival and other recent sporting initiatives have positioned the state as a hub for sports excellence and youth empowerment.
The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, currently underway in Riyadh, brings together athletes from over 50 countries to promote unity and friendship through sports, transcending religious and cultural boundaries.
