The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that its board generated N849 million in one week.
The board made this disclosure in its weekly news bulletin on Sunday, claiming the money was raised between February 15 and 21, 2019 from the sale of the UTME registration and use of its electronic facilities.
It would be recalled that JAMB spent N97,052,298 million to settle issues on payment of taxes, utilities, staff allowance and some other issues within the period.
Showing the breakdown, the examination body said it generated N758,000,000 from UTME registration, N24,073,710 as service charges by the CBT centres, N55,392,973 from consultancy service and N16,000 was from other sources.
The board also disclosed that over one million candidates have registered for its 2019 UTME.
However, the board noted that the examination will not be postponed for any candidate that has biometric issue.
” Any Candidate whose fingers could not be captured during registration at the CBT centre must visit Abuja for his/her registration.” the statement said.
