The Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal Campaign Organization (JALCO) has come out to debunk rumors that its principal, Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal, has endorsed another party’s candidate, Dapo Abiodun, for the forthcoming governorship election in Ogun State.
This statement came shortly after some loyalists of the late Senator Buruji Kashamu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) endorsed and vowed to work in tandem with the incumbent governor towards the March 11, gubernatorial election.
In an exclusive interview with PLATFORM TIMES, the Project Director of the Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal Campaign Organization (JALCO), stated that “He can’t endorse anyone or party since he is still at the Supreme Court, contrary to reports making the rounds that he has endorsed DA or defected to APC”
Austin added in a statement, released on Sunday, 6th March, 2023, the campaign organization described the rumors as “lies from the pit of hell.”
The statement also stressed that it is not only mischievous but unimaginable that Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal will abandon his aspiration and goal of turning the fortunes of Ogun state around positively.
The organization also appealed to its supporters and the electorate to keep hope alive, stating that Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal remains committed to replicating his widely acknowledged skills and experience of good governance in the Gateway State.
The statement also clarified that the campaign organization has a pending appeal in the Supreme Court and could not have abandoned it to endorse another party’s candidate. Those who claimed otherwise were said to be on a frolic of their own in search of pecuniary gains.
The upcoming governorship election in Ogun State is generating a lot of interest, and the campaigns are in full swing. With this clarification, it is clear that Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal remains in the race and is determined to win the election to bring good governance to the people of Ogun State.
