A storey building has reportedly collapsed in Ogijo, Sagamu Area of Ogun State.
PLATFORM TIMES exclusively gathered that the uncompleted one storey building collapsed in the early hours of Thursday around 7am.
Eyewitnesses said the building located around PZ Estate Onijagun, went down with no initial sign.
They added that the building despite being uncompleted used to be occupied by some bike riders but were chased away from the building for posing threats in the community.
The collapsed building has houses on its left and right occupied by people.
“The building has been up to the roofing level for over 10 years. It used to be occupied by some Hausa Okada riders but they were sent away from the place by the community, if not we might have recorded not less than 10 deaths and lots of bikes damaged,” an eyewitness told PLATFORM TIMES.
While the cause of building collapse cannot be verified as at the time of filling this report, PLATFORM TIMES reports that it could be connected to the weakness of the structure having been abandoned for long.
